Sunday School Convention The annual convention of the Tilla mook Sunday School Association con vened in the Methodist Church Saturday at 10 a. m. The county president D. A Mackenzie in the chair, Rev. Chas. A. Phipps, the field secretary of the Ore gon Sunday School Association con ducted an interesting round table talk, giving all in attendance an opportunity to ask questions. The afternoon ses sion was given up largely to business, and hearing verbal reports from the schools represented In the evening Mr. Phipps gave an instruc tive address on “How to Make the Sunday School Grow.” Sunday morning Mr. Phipps address ed a union meeting at Bay City, and at 3 p. m. a rally of all the Sunday Schools of Tillamook was held in the Christian Church. Mr. Phipps spoke on the subject: “Seven Sunday School Symptoms.” The closing session was held in the Christian Church at 7:30 p. m. After a rousing song service led by Rev. Jop> and a Union Choir Mr. Phipps was again introduced, and held the large audience spell-bound for over an hour and a half, picturing his experiences on his trip to Zurich, Switzerland, while attending the World’s Sunday School Convention. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: President, Ralph Moore; Vice-Pres ident, W. E. Noyes; Secy-Tress.. Mrs. Edith King; Elementary Supt.. Mrs. G. F. Buck; Teacher Training Supt., Rev. H. J, Pontius; Organized Class Work Supt., Mary White; Temperance and Good Citizenship Supt., Verne Bain {Supt of Missions, Lee Doty; Supt of Evangelism. Rev H. F. White. The committee on Resolutions pre sented the following resolutions, which were read and adopted by a standing vote at the closing session of the con vention. Tillamook, Ore., Feb. 22nd, 1914.
